Server for Reviewing Work and Travel Programs

This thesis is a documentation covering complete design process of a web server for reviewing Work and Travel programs and other opportunities for working and travelling abroad, mainly focused on young people. It describes not only the concept of the user interface and application implementation, but also a business plan for running the website and making it pro table. This project called GapPacker is intended as a start-up, aggregating various programs and articles from the world of Work and Travel and its main income will come from paid clicks through to registrations or websites of providers o ering the programs. After its introduction on the Czech market, it has ambitions to expand to other European markets.

My work called Wandering... is addressed to natural ways of Travelling. I relativised this therm and I complain it with the word Wandering. First of all I try to evocate wandering in mind. I use quite static images that contrasts with wide range of musical themes and sound effects.

The thesis deals with the business plan of the online project Světotrip.cz. It is a travel portal that connects experienced travelers with people who don`t have much experience with individual travelling. The goal is to reach out to the public in general and offer them the possibility of low-cost travel. The introductory part contains theoretical starting points and explains the necessary terms. The second analytical part evaluates the market environment through external, internal and sectoral analyzes. The final part focuses on the development of a actual business plan. The reader will be thoroughly acquainted with the goal of the whole project, the various services offered, the competitive advantage and the specific business model of the whole project.
Mobile Application for Travelling Support

Bachelor's thesis describes the design and implementation of application for travellers. The application is built on the Android mobile platform, uses the GPS module of device and requires the Internet access for most functions. The user of this application may track his waypoints, search for services around, look up current exchange rates of world currencies, record travel costs, access to the online translator, publish informations from journey to Facebook, display information about GPS position and display actual address. The application uses Google maps, the static data are stored in SQLite database, works with asynchronous tasks and is written in the Java programming language. The thesis also describes testing of the application and the possibilities of its further development.

Diploma thesis concerns with design of a lookout airship. The work tries to find a solution to a problem, how to connect technology, ergonomics and aesthetics into design of new product. Mobile System for Travelling Support

This master's thesis describes process of design and development of a mobile system for travelling support. Application named TravelHelper is developed for Android operating system therefore is implemented in Java programing language. In thesis's text is described used platform and its primary construction blocks. Main function of application is a journeys' diary, which allows storing activities of a trips. Application also allows backing up and sharing journeys on a social networks. Other functions of the application are searching for interesting places nearby, manager of travel expenses, translator, currency converter, and a packing list.

Hana Havlůjová: Czech modern women and the Orient in the first half of the 20th century: Challenging both gender and colonial dichotomies from the margins of Europe Abstract In regards to both Czech and international research context my thesis has two main objectives. Firstly, it aims to explore various Czech sources, be them written or visual, in order to examine their potential for cultural history-based research on Czech modern women's (re)presentations of the Orient in the first half of the 20th century. Secondly, it uses a perspective 'from the margins of Europe' in order to challenge traditional dichotomies that prevail in a majority of research on gender and nationalism as well as colonialism worldwide. Therefore, my analyses of Czech modern women's (re)presentations of the Orient focus mainly on the interplay of three modern discourses - feminism, nationalism and orientalism. The first part of the thesis First impressions: Three Czech modern women in the Orient comprises three case studies on Pavla Dušková, Ludmila Matiegková and Vlasta Kálalová Di- Lotti, who travelled to and stayed in the Near East (Egypt, Palestine, Iraq) in the 1920s and 1930s. Their personal papers (e.g. family correspondence, unpublished travelogues) as well as published works (e.g. academic pieces of writing, popular novels)...
